The cause of Tuesday's power outage in Neodesha has been determined.

According to the city, the outage was caused by faulty equipment at the city's substation rather than the Evergy-owned distribution line serving the city as they originally thought. The outage lasted from Tuesday afternoon until 10:30 on Tuesday night as crews repaired a transformer and related infrastructure with parts delivered from Kansas City. City officials are thanking all first responders for their help throughout the day in addition to Evergy for their assistance in isolating the fault and helping with repairs.
