A Coffeyville Early Learning Center teacher has won the Kansas Horizon Teacher Award.  The award was given to second-year preschool Teacher DeLaney Russell. ELC Principal Amanda Cavaness says Russell was nominated by parents, fellow teachers and administration.

Cavaness says one thing she's noticed about Russell is that is she both very teachable and very reflective. Russell says it was an honor to receive this recognition. Russell says she became a teacher because of the impact a teacher had on her. She says her goal for the future is to continue to push herself to grow knowing there is a learning opportunity every day.
