The Neodesha Fire Department is changing their shift schedule for the first time since 1980. Fire Chief Keenan Fyfe says they are switching from 24 hours on, 24 hours on call and 48 hours off to 48 hours on and 96 hours off.

Fyfe says another benefit of the shift changes is there will be more staff at the firehouse during a shift. Fyfe says he has several firefighters who have been with the department for a long time and are excited for the change. The “A” shift, who started yesterday will work the first ever 48-hour shift in department history.
