The Parsons Police Department recovers a stolen vehicle after a short investigation.

 

 Late last week, Parsons police officers were called to the 800 block of North 16th Street for a report of a stolen 2012 Volkswagen Jetta with a firearm inside.

 

 The stolen vehicle was located backed into a driveway in the 1600 block of Gabriel Avenue, where 29-year-old Brandon Lee Parks was located. Parks, seen on security footage earlier, was still wearing the same clothing. It was determined that the firearm was no longer in the stolen Jetta. Parks had taken the firearm out of the vehicle and taken it into the residence. He was also found with a number of an illegal controlled substances as well.

 

 Parks is a convicted felon and is restricted from being in possession of firearms.

 

 Charges of Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Theft of a Firearm, Criminal Possession of a Weapon by a Convicted Felon, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Violation of Offender Registration are being sought through the County Attorney's Office.
