Sexual abuse charges have been filed against a former Carl Junction police officer convicted 10 years ago of possessing child pornography.

 39-year-old Seth Wilkins, of Jasper, was charged late last week with first-degree sodomy and first-degree sexual abuse of a 9-year-old girl.

 The probable-cause affidavit states that Wilkins inappropriately touched the girl in December at a rural Barton County residence.

 According to the Joplin Globe, this isn't the first time Wilkins has been charged. As a member of the Carl Junction Police Department, he was charged in  2010 with possession of child pornography. Court records say he admitted having downloaded about 100 videos from the internet. He plead guilty to the charge in November 2012, and was discharged from probation in August 2015.
