Milk production in Kansas was up during the end of 2022.

That's according to the latest milk production report released by the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service. In December 2022, production totaled 354 million pounds, up 4% from December 2021. The average number of milk cows was 175,000 head, which is an increase of 7,000 from December 2021. Milk production per cow averaged 2,025 pounds.
