The Chautauqua County Board of Commissioners heard from a local taxpayer with questions about his delinquent property tax during the public comment section. He was concerned that he had to appear on the court date on his letter and pay the fees and costs on that day. County Treasurer Amy Goode was able to shed some light on the situation.

Commissioner Rodney Shaw had a question about holiday pay for county employees. Shaw asked if a holiday falls on a Saturday for instance, regular employees will get their holiday pay on Friday, but do certain employees that work on holidays like deputies and trash collection employees still get that pay? Human Resources Director Crystal Wade says that yes they will get both the paid holiday and will get paid for the hours they work as well.

In other business, the commissioners unanimously approved the payout for the county insurance.
