A second round of Building a Stronger Economy (BASE) grants are available. Yesterday, the Kansas Department of Commerce announced that $50 million in additional funds were designated by the Strengthening People and Revitalizing Kansas Executive Committee and was approved by the State Finance Council in December.
Applicants who were not funded in round one will not need to reapply. County and local governments, economic development organizations, local chambers of commerce, and other stakeholders are eligible to apply for BASE 2.0 funding.
Applications must document how the project was delayed or affected negatively due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting economic downturn.
The deadline for submissions will be Tuesday, January 31. A webinar on BASE 2.0 is available to the public at 10 am this Friday, January 6th
