Goal Setting for the New Year

 

A new year can mean setting new goals to accomplish, whether that's short-term goals for the year or long-term goals. Kansas State University Family Resource Management Specialist Elizabeth Kiss says when it comes to setting goals we often think it’s all or nothing but that’s not necessarily the most successful way to achieve them.

 

Kiss says routine can help accomplish a goal but it's okay if an intended outcome isn't met early on.  Kiss says it can help to write down goals, share them with others and review them periodically, but don’t obsess over them. She says goals can change over time from focusing on healthy living to saving for retirement.
