KHP Works Four Fatality Accidents Over Christmas Holiday

 

The number of fatality crashes over the Christmas Holiday weekend doubles compared to the previous year.

 

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, there were four fatality accidents that resulted in four fatalities, which is up from two in 2021. None of the four were DUI related, which is the third year in a row there have been zero DUI-related fatalities over the Christmas Holiday.

 

KHP says there were 16 DUI arrests, there were 416 speed citations issued, 41 seat belt citations issued and KHP assisted 512 drivers. The reporting period for the holiday ran from 6:00pm Friday through 11:59pm on Monday.
