Local cowboys and cowgirls are well represented at the 2022 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas.
Pawhuska’s own, Wenda Johnson was the winner of the first round of barrel racing with a time of 13.57 seconds, netting her $28,914. Rookie cowgirl Leslie Smalygo, of Skiatook, had a time of 13.80 taking 4th place with a prize of $12,125.
Jake Long, from Coffeyville, will be competing as a heeler in the team roping. Pawhuska's Tyler Milligan is competing in the calf roping event.
