Kansas Governor Laura Kelly, with bipartisan cooperation from the Kansas’ federal legislative delegation, announced Kansas has received federal approval for the enhancement of the Health Care Access Improvement Program. The announcement means that Kansas will bring in $341 million each year which will help rural hospitals and healthcare workers at a time when they are especially financially vulnerable. Governor Kelly says that Kansas must now expand Medicaid and increase access to care for all Kansans. The money secured federally by Senator Jerry Moran and others comes via the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
