Nowata Women Arrested for Breaking and Entering

A Nowata woman is arrested on a Cherokee Nation Tribal warrant.

48-year-old Terri Schell was arrested on a warrant for first-degree burglary. The incident occurred earlier this year on the morning of February 15th. The sheriff's office was called to an address in Delaware. The victim reported hearing a knock and when he went to check on it, found Schell standing in his house. She was screaming the house was hers and he needed to get out. The victim grabbed his shotgun, but Schell also grabbed the gun and hit him with the barrel. She began throwing items around the house. The victim loaded his shotgun but Schell disappeared.

A deputy found a phone outside the house, believed to belong to Schell. After several attempts to contact her, she went to the sheriff's office for an interview. Schell says she doesn't remember anything about the morning in question, but she used to live at that address about 20 years ago. Charges were filed on September 8th. Schell has been released on a $5,000 bond.
