Kansas Victim Notification Website and Phone App Enhanced

Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt announced enhancements to the state’s victim notification system. The announcement coincides with Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Last year in Kansas there were 22.593 domestic violence incidents reported, that is one every 23 minutes.

Kansas Victim Information and Notification Everyday or VINE is an automated victim notification service that allows victims of crimes to search and register to receive automated notifications that inform them when an offender is released, transferred, or escapes from a county jail facility. You can access the information as either a guest or set up a confidential personal account on either the website or the mobile app. VINE also offers a telephone service that allows the user to search using voice prompts.

For more information about Kansas VINE or to sign up for offender notification, visit ag.ks.gov/vine.  For more information on domestic violence and resources for assistance, contact Victim Services Division at 800-828-9745 or visit www.ag.ks.gov/victim-services, or for 24-hour helpline assistance call 888-END-ABUSE or 888-363-2287.
