Coffeyville City Commission Approves Airport Improvements

Improvements are coming to the Coffeyville Municipal Airport. At their meeting last night, The Coffeyville City Commission approved a number of resolutions funding projects at the airport.  Many of the projects, such as replacing runway and taxiway lighting and adding lighted runway signs, are fully or partially funded by grants, according to Airport Services Director Jarrod Powers.

The Commission also authorized applying for a grant through the Kansas Department of Transportation for crack sealing and repainting of runways.

Finally, the Commission approved funding for repairs to the south hanger, which two companies are already interested in leasing according to Powers.

The city recently took over operations of the airport from the previous fixed base operator after his retirement.
