Senator Jerry Moran penned a letter to President Joe Biden urging the President to stop depleting the Strategic Petroleum Reserve. The Reserve is at its lowest point in 40 years.

Yesterday, Moran spelled out that the US consumes nearly 20 million barrels of oil per day and the recent decision to release another 10 million barrels from the reserve would have a minimal effect on lowering the price at the pump and only imperils our energy security at a critical time of global uncertainty. Senator Moran went on to say that now is the time to unleash the domestic oil and gas industry to lower prices, support American jobs, and decrease our persistent reliance on adversaries for our energy.
