Montgomery County Precinct Committee Chair Daniel Knight meets with the County Commissioners to discuss the salary for the new County Attorney.  Commission Chair Robert Bever says the budget for 2023 has already been set but there is a range of salaries that the Commissioners can use.

Since former County Attorney Lisa Montgomery is a republican the Montgomery County Republican Precinct Committee will send their pick to Governor Laura Kelly, who will then appoint the new County Attorney based on their recommendation. Bever says once the Governor makes the appointment then they can discuss salary.

Bever says he hopes the Committee understands that since the budget has been set it would be difficult to change.
