Clarification of Proposed Constitutional Amendment

The State of Kansas in the upcoming General Election will have two Constitutional Amendments on the ballot. According to some recent social media posts, there seems to be confusion about the Sheriff's Constitutional Amendment. In essence, if you vote for the new Amendment then you are voting to preserve how your Sheriff is currently elected and that the involuntary removal of the Sheriff can only be done by either a recall election or through a procedure initiated by the State Attorney General. What this Amendment does not allow is the involuntary removal of the Sheriff by a possibly vindictive county attorney. If you vote no, then everything remains the same as it is now.
