KDOT Turns $10,000 Award Into Over $25,000 In Scholarships

 

The Kansas Department of Transportation won a national award in the 2021 America’s Transportation Awards competition. Although the award for the Turner Diagonal interchange project in Wyandotte County was for $10,000, the KSDOT has received pledges that have boosted that amount to over $25,000. The award winnings presented by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials through online voting from the public, have been donated by winners in the past for scholarships, but never before has a winning state leveraged the award to get matching contributions to the extent Kansas has

To apply for a scholarship for the 2023 spring semester, you have to be a Kansas resident in either a 2 or 4-year public higher education institution. Scholarships of $5000 are available for juniors or seniors in a four-year program or $2500 for those in the final year of an associate degree program.
