$4 Million Grant To Enable Mental Health Facility Hire 27 More Staff

The Crawford County Mental Health Center (CCMHC) has been awarded a four-year, $4 million expansion grant from the Federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). This will make the 9th community mental health agency in Kansas that will become a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic. The remaining 17 community centers are to be accredited by the state in the next two years.

The grant will enable CCBHC to hire up to 27 new staff members. It will allow CCBHC to be more embedded in schools, jails, ERs, Law Enforcement, and the Courts.

CCBHC’s goal is to increase access to and improve the quality of, community-based mental health and substance use disorder services, particularly to underserved communities. Crawford County Mental Health Center has been serving Pittsburg and the surrounding area’s mental health needs since 1961. For more information on CCMHC’s services click here.
