An investigation is underway after two bodies are discovered in Labette County.

Yesterday morning around 8:30am, the Labette County Sheriff's Office received a call from a subject who was checking on two friends in Mound Valley when he discovered the bodies. When deputies arrived at the residence, they discovered the decomposing bodies of male and female subject.

The Labette County Sheriff’s Office requested the Kansas Bureau of Investigation's assistance and at around 9:10am KBI agents and the Crime Scene Response Team responded to the scene to investigate. The bodies have not yet been positively identified. The circumstances of their deaths are considered suspicious. Autopsies are scheduled. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information should contact the KBI at 1-800-KS-CRIME.
