The Chautauqua County Commissioners have issued a county-wide burn ban. The ban specifically prohibits any person in the county of Chautauqua from open burning, including but not limited to setting fire to any forest, grass, range, crop, or other wildlands, or building a campfire or bonfire, or burning trash, or burning other materials that may cause a forest, grass, range, crop or other wildlands fire.

A fine of $1000 may be assessed to violators. This does not include BBQ Grills.
