A mandatory water rationing is in effect for the city of Caney. Rationing has been mandated in order to prolong the water supply that is currently available. Mayor Josh Elliot says they just want to take safety precautions so they don't run out of water.

Elliot says a good rain or multiple days of rain would help solve this problem but in the meantime, he has been working on providing another solution.  Elliot made the recommendation in a special meeting with the city council to move from a water warning to a water emergency.
