Atmos Energy awards a grant to the Independence Fire Department and EMS.

The grant money will be used to purchase a 500gpm Quick Attack Monitor and nozzle, which is connected to a supply line allowing the department to flow water unmanned. This will be utilized for protecting exposures at structure fires, Haz Mat applications and cooling down electric-powered vehicles.

Emergency Management Director Rick Whitson helped IFD obtain this grant.
