Fed Programs To Help With Internet & Phone Costs

If you are having trouble paying for phone and internet services while paying for back-to-school costs, help is available. The Kansas Corporation Commission asks Kansans in need of assistance o apply for Lifeline and the Affordable Connectivity Plan. Anyone who qualifies for Lifeline is automatically eligible for ACP. But if you don’t qualify for Lifeline then you may qualify for ACP as its maximum annual income for a family of four is $55,500 per year, while the Lifeline program’s maximum annual income for a family of four is $37,463.

The ACP plan also provides for a one-time discount of up to $100 for a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet purchased through a participating provider.

More information on income eligibility, participating providers, and the enrollment process is available on the KCC website. This link is provided in the online version of this story at kggfradio.com
