Parsons Man Arrested Barely Two Months After Being Released

The Parsons Police Officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of Appleton for a reported aggravated burglary that was in progress. In the early morning hours of September 4th dispatch received a 911 call from a woman who said a man had entered the home and went into the daughter’s bedroom. The daughter escaped and woke her mother and they both ran into a bathroom and called 911 to guide authorities to the house. Dispatch advised the officers that there was still another juvenile in the house in a different room.

Officers arrived just in time to see a man, who was quickly identified as Mackenzie Cory Gamblian, leaving the house. In attempting to detain Gamblian, he allegedly began kicking and biting officers in an effort to flee. Officers were able to take Gamblian into custody and he was transported to the Police Department without further issues.

Parsons Patrol Lieutenant Kyle Wilford said that because of the quick thinking of the victims they were able to make an arrest while the suspect was still on the scene.

Parsons PD is recommending that 33-year-old Mackenzie Cory Gamblian of Parsons, be charged with Aggravated Burglary, Theft, 2 counts of Battery on Law Enforcement Officers, and Interference with LEOs. Gamblian was recently released from Labette County jail on July 11th after taking a plea agreement for a 2019 case in which he was arrested. Bond has been set at $20,000.
