The MG Board of commissioners met for their regular meeting Monday (yesterday) and Mg. Co. Treasurer Nancy Clubine, was asked to speak to the error that was found by a recent audit of her department. She found the mistake and advised the board as to how and why it happened. Apparently, some money was held by the court in 2021 and should not have been included in the totals for that year.
The board also was asked by Emergency Management Director Rick Whitson and Lee Miller for permission to move further in the project they have been working on to use grant money to hire a temporary worker to go through all of the businesses, groups, and organizations that would be available to use if there was a large event in Montgomery county where there were multiple victims that needed help.
They are not ready to hire anyone as of yet but, they wanted to advise and get permission to move forward.
Chairperson Bever said they would support the project and let them know their progress on this issue.
Human Resources Director Becky Lewis reported that October 12th will be the date for the County Employee Health Fair from 6:30 am to 10 pm. The health department will be there as well giving out flu shots. Breakfast will be provided by Eggberts.
