Kansas Sports Betting Starts Just In Time For The Pro Football Season

Kansas Senate Bill 84, bipartisan legislation legalizing sports betting in Kansas, is coming to fruition. The new law signed by Governor Laura Kelly allows wagering in Kansas on mobile apps, in casinos, and venues like restaurants and nonprofit fraternal or veteran organizations.

The 4 state-run casinos including the Kansas Crossing Casino & Hotel in Pittsburg, will, under temporary rules and regulations, officially begin accepting wagers September 1st. This is just in time for the first professional football game on September 8th.

Tribal casinos are still working with the state on contracts. When they are completed these casinos will be authorized to launch as soon as they are ready.

The Kansas Lottery Commission, who will oversee the new law, has a video that explains the recent updates.

Here is the link to the video.  More information about Kansas sports wagering can be found on the Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission’s website: krgc.ks.gov
