Montgomery County Board of Commissioners Vote On Broadband

The Montgomery County Board of Commissioners voted during their regular session to send a letter to the city of Coffeyville expressing their support along with $100,000 as soon as the City shows they have obtained the grant from the state for broadband Internet. They will also send a similar letter to Spark Light and a check for $216,000 once they obtain the grant money for the upgrade of infrastructure for broadband internet for the rest of the county they agreed to cover. The board also voted to send a letter of support to Totah Communications which is upgrading some of the rural parts of the county on their own dime. No money was asked for and none will be sent to Totah.

The Commission Chair Robert Bever also made a point to say that this was grant money the county is using to help Coffeyville and Spark Light.
