Parsons Police Lieutenant Kyle Wilford ended a weeklong investigation that resulted in the arrest of a non-compliance sex offender registration. 52-year-old Calvin Willie Buford of Parsons was located by Lt. Wilford on August 10 on Birch Ave. in Parsons where Lt. Wilford performed a traffic stop and arrested Buford for failure to register as an offender with 2 or more prior convictions. The traffic stop also resulted in additional charges. Buford was charged with driving while suspended, transportation of an open container, and possession of a controlled substance. Buford was required to register as a sex offender for previous convictions of Sexual Battery by Adult with a victim under 12 and lewd and lascivious contact with a child under 16. According to the Parsons Police Department, he also has a criminal career spanning over 30 years.
