Changes in the healthcare system over the last several decades have had an adverse effect on the availability of health services locally.   Longtime Coffeyville doctor Paul Sandhu says there are far fewer private doctors in practice locally then there were a few years ago.

The Practice Manager for Southeast Kansas Community Health Care for Montgomery County, Jaia Kister says clinics like hers are trying to fill the gap.

Both Dr. Sandhu and Kister spoke to members of the Coffeyville Rotary Club yesterday.
