A ribbon cutting is being held at the end of the month for a new veteran's home in Independence. Home Sweet Home Ministries Ruth Hanke says they wanted to open the Miller House in honor of her father.
The ribbon cutting is on August 25th at 11:30am. There will be speakers as well as music played so they ask to bring a lawn chair to the event. There will also be refreshments available inside the home. The Miller House is located at 1116 West Laurel Street in Independence.
