Tulsa Man Dies From Confrontation Over Carjacking

A carjacking spree ends in a deadly confrontation. Tulsa Police say 32-year-old David Getsinger and 43-year-old Dustin LeLeux stole more than one car Saturday.

They started early, at 7:15 am when an owner left his keys in his truck as he went inside a donut shop. A few hours later, at about 11 am, TPD was flagged down near 21 and 1-244. Witnesses said two men attacked a man working on a construction site and stole his truck. That truck was abandoned in midtown Tulsa, and the pair stole yet another truck.

This time the owner of the vehicle they stole told police he saw Getsinger and LeLeux driving his truck and he followed the duo and tried to confront them near S. Peoria Avenue and Riverside. TPD says Getsinger pulled a knife on the car theft victim. The victim wrestled it away from Getsinger and stabbed him with it, killing Getsinger. TPD said LeLeux was arrested and charged with second-degree felony murder, robbery and larceny. The car theft victim was not charged and the investigation is ongoing.
