A search warrant for drugs and stolen property is executed in Caney. Yesterday morning, Caney Police Officers executed the search warrant on a residence located in the 100 block of North Spring Street.

Officers located one occupant inside the home, identified as 39-year-old James Jones of Independence. Officers discovered that Jones had an active warrant out of Montgomery County for failure to appear on an aggravated assault with a weapon charge. Officers recovered methamphetamine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, drug packaging materials, scales, numerous stolen credit cards and IDs.

The person who resides at the home was not home at the time of the search warrant. The investigation is still ongoing as officers continue to look for that individual.
