Amelia Earhart's Statue is Memorialzed At Statuary Hall in The Nation's Capitol

Inside the Capitol Building in Washington, DC there is a chamber called Statuary Hall. It was established in 1864, and each state was granted two statues of heroes from their state that the citizens of each particular state deemed worthy of commemoration. Amelia Earhart is the newest addition. Senator Jerry Moran was one of the speakers at the dedication Ceremony.

Moran says Earhart's ambition and spirit of adventure epitomize the way of life in Kansas, ever since the first wagons rolled onto the prairie more than 150 years ago.

Moran says working hard and dreaming big is what Kansans have always done, after all, it's the State's motto, "to the stars through difficulties".
