K-State to Present Soil Health Conference Aug. 11

 

Turning Soil Health into Practice is the theme for the upcoming Southeast Kansas Soil Health Conference, set for August 11 at the Greenbush Educational Center in Girard, Kansas. The event is sponsored by K-State Research and Extension. Speakers will include Loran Steinlage from West Union, Iowa, who will talk about practices and equipment for regenerative farming. Candy Thomas, a regional soil health specialist with the NRCS will provide soil structure and water infiltration demonstrations, and Ed Brokesh from K-State will discuss equipment and the economics of regenerative agriculture. Wildcat District agent James Coover laid out the agenda for the event, starting with field tours, followed by lunch.
