Caney Man Threatens To Shoot Fellow Employees At Caney High School

A Caney man was arrested for two counts of alleged Aggravated Criminal Threats. A call from a private citizen yesterday to the Caney Police reported an individual made a threat to shoot employees at the Caney High School.

Officers immediately responded to the school and contacted the suspect, 50-year-old John Swalley, a janitor at CHS, who was working in the administration building. The administration building was evacuated as a precautionary measure. Swalley was taken to the Caney PD for questioning without incident. Officers interviewed those employees who were present when the alleged threats were made, and after interviewing the suspect, officers determined there was enough evidence to make an arrest.

Swalley was transported to the Montgomery County Department of Corrections and charges were forwarded to the Montgomery County Attorney's Office for review and formal charging.
