Amelia Earhart will join Dwight D Eisenhower in representing Kansas at the U.S. Capitol. A dedication of an Earhart statue in the Capitol’s Statuary Hall will be held at 11:00 this morning. U.S. Senator Jerry Moran of Kansas spoke on the floor of the Senate Tuesday to speak on the honor. Moran told the Senate before she was he Queen of the ACir she was the daughter of a small Kansas town.
The statue’s dedication today comes three days before what would be Earhart’s 125th birthday.
