Commissioners Decide to Contract With Local Business

The Montgomery County Board of Commissioners is planning to have local funeral homes pick up bodies for the county.
Chairperson Robert Bever said the company that the county had been using once again failed to be able to make a pick-up last week.

The board voted to have attorney Paul Crites send a memo to John Keith, manager of several Funeral Homes in the county, The memo would go over what is expected and then have a contract drawn up with Mr. Keith that would include everything that is needed to fix the problem including compensation. Mr. Bever said this would make sure the bodies are taken care of in a timely fashion by local professionals.

Having a local company would insure that there aren't delays of up to 5 or 6 hours or being told they can't do the job at all and would keep Montgomery county money in Montgomery county.
