MG County Board Of Commissioners Hold Public Hearing

The Montgomery County Commissioners held a public hearing, as per Kansas state law, to change the resolution from 325 million in bonds to 375 million for the Bartlett Soybean Crushing facility currently under construction.

Bill Webster, representing Bartlett says inflation has played a role in the increase, but they also have expanded the scope of the project now that they are sure the rail system will be improved.

What this means for the county initially is more revenue and more direct jobs at the facility.

The jobs at the facility are just the beginning. Ryan Thompson says the increase in scope means it will be an even bigger benefit to the county.

The board voted to change the resolution so operations can continue.
