Phase one of the Levee Impact Study and mitigation project in Coffeyville has been completed.

Emergency Management Director Rick Whitson says it’s taken since the flood of May 2019 to get this project underway and after over 2 years of COVID and other delays, they were finally able to bring everyone together in late 2021.

Whitson says Phase one has been almost a year of near-monthly meetings involving a great deal of planning, flood impact projections, impact modeling, partnerships and data collection. Phase two begins in mid-September.
