Temperatures in the mid to high 100s for the next several days will put a strain on utilities. Coffeyville Electric Utilities Director Michael Shook says they are prepared for the high temperatures.
Shook says he has some tips for conserving energy for the next several days and anytime during the summer. Shook says Coffeyville Municipal Light and Power is a part of the Southwest Power Pool which covers fourteen states. He says if something would overload part of their system somewhere else, it could also affect here.
