Kansas Infrastructure Summit began Wednesday at Wichita State University’s Hughes Metropolitan Complex. The primary message from Governor Laura Kelly at the event was that while we are making great strides in economic development here in Kansas, improving the state’s infrastructure needs are key to continuing that development.
With that in mind, Kansas looks to take advantage of at least $3.8 billion in funding during the next five years from the federal Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. A newly created Kansas Infrastructure Hub will help coordinate state agencies and local entities as they administer and apply for funding through the $1.2 trillion federal Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
