Alleged Multiple Stolen Vehicle Spree Spanning Several Counties Ends In Crash

 

Multiple stolen vehicle spree ends in Chautauqua County. According to Chautauqua County Sheriff's Department's Facebook page, yesterday afternoon Elk county notified Chautauqua they were southbound on K99 in pursuit of an alleged stolen motorcycle. The suspect was believed to have fled from Greenwood and Elk County Officers had allegedly stolen multiple vehicles and was broadcast as possibly armed and dangerous.

Pursuing officers lost sight of the suspect near the Elk/Chautauqua county line. A short time later Chautauqua county officers located the suspect heading southbound on road 14 and another pursuit was initiated. The suspect fled south to US166 Hwy, at times going off the roadway. The suspect fled westbound and after a short distance struck another vehicle.

Officers rendered aid until Sedan EMS arrived. Kansas Hwy Patrol is conducting the investigation. According to Cq Sheriff's office, the suspect is not a threat to public safety at this time.
