Coffeyville Approves New Developmental Financing Tool

Coffeyville City Commissioners approved establishing policies for City financing of certain public improvements by levying special assessments during last night’s City Commission meeting.  City Manager, Mark Hall explained this is a developmental tool that doesn’t add a burden to taxpayers.

Hall went on to say that the special assessments could also be used for improvements to existing property.

In other business at last night’s Commission meeting Commissioners also approved purchasing property for the building of houses under the USDA’s Mutual Self-Help Housing program, entering into a service agreement for engineering services to upgrade the North Industrial Park Station that was originally built in the 1970’s and transferring ownershio of the baseball and softball fields at Walter Johnson Park to Coffeyville Community College

Commissioners also approved a noise ordinance that would establish policies and penalties for disturbing and repetitive noise within the City.
