West Elk unified school district 282 will say goodbye to longtime Patriot and Athletic Director Dana Talaferro. Talaferro’s career spans 40 years at West Elk where he taught, coached, and did AD work.

He said in an email statement that he enjoyed so many shared experiences and so many relationships with students, players, teachers, coaches officials, and administrators. Craig Maynard has been named as the new Activities/Athletic Director and will take on his duties later this summer.
