The City of Independence has announced a change to city hall's hours. In efforts to better serve its customers and employees, the city is making adjustments to its schedule. Beginning July 5th, the new hours will be Monday through Thursday from 8:00am to 4:00pm and Friday 8am to noon.
The Monday through Thursday schedule includes reopening City Hall over the noon hour, which City Manager Kelly Passauer says has been voiced as a request by several community members needing to conduct business during their lunch breaks. The schedule change will also benefit employees. They will still work a 40-hour week but the adjusted hours offer employees a Friday schedule with more personal time.
