Bonuses Will Be Given To Certain Child Care Workers In Kansas

Certain child care staff and workers will receive an Appreciation Bonus this summer.  Governor Laura Kelly announced today that her administration is giving $53 million to eligible childcare staff.

The funds will be made available through Child Care Workforce Appreciation Bonuses, which are paid for by federal Child Care Development Funds. Bonuses will be distributed directly to approximately 22,650 early childhood care staff members across Kansas. Home-based and relative providers may also qualify for the bonus program. Individual bonus amounts will range from $750 to $2500 per person.

All eligible childcare workers will receive a letter in July outlining the process to accept the bonus and will have until Nov. 18th to act. Go to www.ks.childcareaware.org to learn more about the program.
