The City of Independence has announced there will be delays in trash service this week.

 

City Engineer John Garris says delays are due to a highly unusual circumstance. Garris says he hopes to be back to near normal by next week.

 

The sanitation department says a new trash truck ordered in January is expected to arrive in August, but in the meantime, you may use your own for extra capacity in this special circumstance, just make sure all your trash is bagged.
