Governor Laura Kelly Asks US Senate To Pass Bill Helping US Veterans

Governor Laura Kelly has called on the US Senate and President Joe Biden to pass a bill to help the more than 3.5 million veterans who were exposed to toxins during their military service.

The comprehensive bill is the result of a bipartisan agreement between US Senator Jerry Moran and Senator Jon Tester of Montana. The bill has passed the House of Representatives and the Senate is expected to vote in the next few days.

The bill was named “Sergeant First Class Heath Robinson Honoring Our Pact Act of 2022.” Sergeant First Class Robinson died in 2020 from toxic exposure during his deployment with the Ohio National Guard to Kosovo and Iraq. Governor Kelly said and I quote “For far too long, our veterans have been left without the benefits and services they deserve because Congress has failed to act.”
